The Atlona AT-DP200 is a USB-powered converter that changes DVI or Mini DVI signals from any Mac or PC into a digital output through a Mini DisplayPort connector, commonly found on Apple 24" Displays and iMac 27" models. This device enables extending or mirroring your desktop to an Apple 24", iMac 27", or other compatible DisplayPort monitors.
Users can set the external monitor as their main display or use it to extend the desktop alongside their laptop screen. It is compatible with all Macs and PCs that have DVI or Mini DVI outputs. The converter comes with a built-in DVI cable and is powered via USB, so no separate power adapter is needed.
For Apple LED 24" users connecting HDMI sources like PlayStation 3 or Apple TV with unsupported resolutions, a scaler is necessary between the source and the converter.
For iMac 27" users, the converter supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, but the iMac 27" display will only show up to 1280 x 720 (720p). Gaming consoles such as PS3 or Xbox can connect at 720p without additional equipment.
